Eduardo Castro wanted to stop the Eldrazi from winning the event!

We have seen both of these players in a Top8 feature match before. Will the Eldrazi take home the title or will the mighty Monastery Mentor and his students prevail?

Game one:

On the first turn Eduardo played a Ponder and Mox Sapphire, while Eldrazi Temple, and Mox Ruby enabled a 3/3 Endless One for Jose. Eduardo was more than ready to fight back with a Monastery Mentor and a Mox Ruby creating a Monk token though. Jose summoned a Thought-Knot Seer, which was responded to with Gush, but revealing this hand afterwards:

The second Mentor was removed from that hand. Shortly later Dack Fayden was played and activated, Mox Jet and Preordain all pumped the team, and Jose surprisingly already scooped to the attacking 5/5 Mentor and two 4/4 Monks.

Eduardo took the lead 1-0

Game two:

Both players kept their opening seven again. Jose lead with a Cavern of Souls and a Sol Ring, while Eduardo only had a Preordain to improve the quality of his hand. Eldrazi Temple helped cast an uncounterable Eldrazi Displacer, before Eduardo „cycled“ his Time Walk and cast his favorite card Preordain once again. Black Lotus was played and sacrificed to pay for Monastery Mentor, and Wear // Tear created a Monk token while destroying Jose's Sol Ring.

The Displacer attacked Eduardo down to 15 life, and Ancient Tomb put Jose to 18 when it was used to pay for a 5/5 Endless One. A Gush into a Treasure Cruise filled Eduardo's hand considerably and allowed for a Mox Sapphire and Jace, Vryn's Prodigy / Jace, Telepath Unbound while pumping out Monks left and right. Strip Mine was used to destroy Cavern of Souls, but Jose didn't want to cast more uncounterable Eldrazi anyway, contend to just attack with his 5/5, which was generously allowed to put Eduardo down to 10 life. Another two Preordains were cast, Jace didn't flip due to the Displacer running interference, but Gush and another Mox was enough to turn the army of Monks into a force more lethal than the Eldrazi menace anyway.

Eduardo wins the game, the match and the tournament! Congratulations!
