With more stops and more events than ever this was going to be happy new year at the MKM Series, and we wasted no time to get going! We started into the new season right away on this, the very first weekend of 2018. For a fresh look at the state of Legacy, we asked some of the more notable players in attendance what they considered to be the most overrated decks of the format at the moment …

Julian Knab, second among the MKMS Power 8: “While I think they're two of the very best decks of the format, neither Grixis Delver of Secrets / Insectile Aberration nor Czech Pile are still the be-all-end-all decks people often make them out to be.”

Rodrigo Togores, veteran of seven MKM Series Top 8s and two-time GP champion: “Players like to play Black-Red Reanimator, although it's a deck with too much variance. But you don't need to play it a lot to win some games. So it's easy and cheap.”

Kevin Wagner, member the MKMS Power 8: “Grixis Delver. It's a decent deck for sure, but I dont feel like it fares better than Canadian Threshold in a lot of matchups.”

Arne Huschenbeth, Standard champion of MKMS Hamburg 2017 and winner of GP Rimini 2016: “Grixis Delver.”

Thoralf “Toffel” Severin, veteran of two MKM Series Top 8s and two GP Top 8s: “Lands.”

Tomas Mar, member of the MKMS Power 8: “Grixis Delver.”
