Metagame Breakdown

The dynamics of Standard have shifted in a big way. M20 has changed the format's landscape almost beyond recognition. Sure, Red Aggro is still the most popular deck around, but next in line there are Vampires, Feather, Flash, and Scapeshift. Two of these decks didn't exist at all before the release of the latest set, and neither Feather nor Vampires were anywhere close in either power level or metagame share.

Meanwhile, former favorites like Esper and Gruul have fallen far. Straight two-color decks in red and green only figure into the breakdown as part of the “Other.” This category also included: Blue-Black Control, White-Blue Skies, Jeskai Superfriends, Command the Dreadhorde, Selesnya Tokens, Reanimator, Angels, Bant Midrange, Steel Leaf Stompy, and a certain familiar player on Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle Combo.

Yes, the list of Standard archetypes that see play is long. It definitely isn't as if Scapeshift were dominating everything.
