Welcome to the 2nd stop of the Cardmarket Series and our first-ever stop in beautiful Belgium. Hopefully, our competitors will be able to resist the allure of Belgian Ales long enough to play some Magic! So, without further ado, let’s check in on Magic’s flagship constructed format – Standard!

Standard (Bo3) – not to be confused with the Mythic Invitational’s Duo Standard – is still one of the best constructed formats we’ve ever seen. Some would even argue that it’s better than it was in Guilds of Ravnica and we can’t wait to see Nexus of Fate and Hydroid Krasis tearing it up in all their glory. Metagame Breakdown

There weren't too many surprises at the top of the list of most represented Standard archetypes this weekend. Sultai Midrange, Mono-Red, Esper Control, and Mono-Blue were all expected. The cool story might be Gruul, which has risen to fifth place in popularity. Meanwhile, the tinier white creatures claimed a tinier share of the field than had been usual in recent months.

The “Others” included Boros Angels, Mono-Black, Blue-Black Control, and Grixis Midrange.
