Metagame Breakdown

Wham bam, ban Wrenn … The announcement about the banning of Wrenn and Six only six days before the start of this tournament had taken the Legacy community by surprise. Some probably just cut green from their RUG Delver decks, leaving the blue-red version as the most popular archetype still.

While some lost their favorite planeswalker, others rejoiced: Death and Taxes players celebrated the return of Mother of Runes and claimed the number two spot by number. Maverick was also back on the menu now and—to a smaller degree—so was Elves which took up 1.2% of the field. As typical for Legacy, the “Other” category was large and busy, and featured BUG Delver, Red Prison, Food Chain, Grixis Delver, Goblins, Slivers, Soldiers, Ninjas, and many more …
