Rodrigo Togores has done it again!
At the start of the day, we could see the weariness on the faces of many of our competitors. Not surprisingly after two days of fierce competition, where we have already crowned champions in the Vintage, the Standard and the Legacy events and handed out more than 8.000,- € in prizes!
We saw a number of regulars of the MKM Series putting up strong results once again, increasing their lead in our overall leaderboard. Additionally, we had a number of first-timers that were making use of the very last opportunity to secure a spot in our SuperFinals that will be played at the second stop of the MKM Series in Frankfurt in May. Need some examples? How about Eduardo Sajgalik who has reached the Top 8 of a Pro Tour before, who won our Legacy event this weekend (he split prizes in the finals) as well as Grand Prix Prague champion Eliott Boussaud who managed to claim the title of Standard champion?!
While it looked for a little while like the new faces could outshine our regulars, in the end, it was Rodrigo Togores who proved once and for all that he is the true juggernaut of the MKM Series. His tested Ad Nauseam deck that had already won him more than 3.000,- € in prizes this year didn't quite feel like starting some early Christmas holidays. Instead, it showed Angelo Cadei that there is no one as successful as Rodrigo Togores on the circuit. While Cadei did draw into the perfect hand in the second game to tie the score temporarily, it still wasn't enough and when it mattered the most, Rodrigo once again unleashed the ultimate combo and won in spectacular fashion.
That's it from the MKM Series Madrid, the fourth and final stop in 2015. Make sure to mark down the dates of the 2016 series in your calendar so we will see you next year. Congratulations again to Rodrigo Togores, Modern champion of the MKM Series Madrid!
