MKMS Prague 2017 – Standard

What deck did you play and why?
Mono-Red—it is the best deck when people are unprepared.

What changes would you make to your deck and why?
None.

What is the best Standard deck in your opinion (that you did not play yourself)?
Mono-Red for now—later maybe B/G Energy or R/G Ramp.

MKMS Hamburg 2017 – Standard

What deck did you play and why?
G/W Ramp, because we expected a lot of Temur, and this matchup specifically is incredible.

What changes would you make to your deck and why?
You don't have much space in the main deck and sideboard for choices. We had like one Linvala, the Preserver, one Descend upon the Sinful, one Quarantine Field, and the third Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, which are the flex slots. While Arne played the two Hope Tender, I went back to four Oblivion Sower and four Authority of the Consuls, which is marginal to fine depending on what you expect to face.

What is the best Standard deck in your opinion (that you did not play yourself)?
Mardu or Mono-Red are strong and do win even against a lot of hate. Temur is a close third, but all those decks stand and fall with an updated list. With a field that wide open, you have a lot of choices for the tournament you want to play in, and that is way more important than the deck itself.

MKMS Frankfurt 2018 – Standard

What deck did you play and why?
W/U Approach. Arne Huschenbeth, the best Standard player, said (mentioned once) that “it's the best deck.” Sascha Schwarz won a PTQ with it.

What changes would you make to your deck and why?
None.

What is the best Standard deck in your opinion (that you did not play yourself)?
Temur.
