Metagame Breakdown

To nobody's surprise the most-played card in Standard was Mountain. Whether in the midrangey Red-Black Chainwhirler, the slightly more aggressive Mono-Red, or the extremely aggressive burn-heavy versions with The Flame of Keld, more than a third of the field ran some red cards.

Steel Leaf Stompy, Mono-Blue Storm, Esper Control, and Blue-Black Midrange put up decent numbers too, while Winding Constrictor and Nexus of Fate had fallen mostly by the wayside. The “Others” included some spicy brews featuring Pride Sovereign and Adeliz, the Cinder Wind as well as one Mono-Blue Tempo and a Mono-Black Midrange.
